Responses of Surface Evaporative Fluxes in Montane Cloud Forests to the Climate Change Scenario

چکیده

Abstract Fog plays a vital role in maintaining ecosystems montane cloud forests. In these forests, large amount of water on the surface leaves and canopy (hereafter water) evaporates during morning. This biophysical process critical factor regulating afternoon fog formation. Recent studies have found that alterations precipitation, temperature, humidity, CO 2 concentrations associated with future climate changes may affect terrestrial hydroclimatology, but responses forests remain unclear. Utilizing numerical experiments Community Land Model, we explored evaporative fluxes Chi-Lan Mountain northeastern Taiwan under RCP8.5 scenario aforementioned various atmospheric variables. The results showed increased rainfall intensity change runs decreased accumulation water, while larger vapor led to more nighttime condensation leaves. Elevated did not greatly impact amounts, photosynthesis was enhanced, transpiration reduced contributed latent heat fluxes, implying importance forest plant physiology modulating land fluxes. Evapotranspiration due multiple combined factors, contrast expected intensification global cycle warming. study, however, is restricted an offline model without land–atmosphere interactions adjacent grids, which deserves further analyses for regions.

Climate change scenario for Costa Rican montane forests

[1] Tropical montane cloud forests are characterized by persistent immersion in clouds, an important source of moisture during the dry season. Future changes in temperature and precipitation could alter cloud cover at the vegetation level and seriously affect mountain ecosystems. A regional climate modeling study that focuses on changes in the distributions of temperature and precipitation in C...

Soil Microbial Communities in Natural and Managed Cloud Montane Forests

Forest management often results in changes in soil microbial communities. To understand how forest management can change microbial communities, we studied soil microbial abundance and community structure in a natural Chamaecyparis (NCP) forest, a disturbed Chamaecyparis (DCP) forest, a secondary (regenerated) Chamaecyparis (SCP) forest and a secondary (reforested) Cryptomeria (SCD) forest. We a...

Climate change Effects of Surface soil temperature profile in Ahwaz

In arid and semi-arid regions, soil surface warming is a considerable phenomenon causing a high thermal gradient which makes water flow intensely. The degree of soil temperature is effective on crop production, plant growth and soil microorganisms. In recent years, the ascending trend of temperature has been substantially noticed by researchers in the issues of pointwise climate change and at w...
